World Cup started yesterday in Ufa, Russia

64 men and 38 women (separate tournaments) are playing for the World Cup prizes and a place to go to Sport Accord Mind Games in Bejing, China. While the majority of the 80 players are from Russia and neighborhood countries, USA is represented by our 2010 Champion, Grandmaster Yevgeniy Sklyarov. Also, from Pan-Am is playing current Pan-Am Champion Allan Silva. Both Yevgeniy and Allan won the first games. There is 9 round total playing swiss system. The number and caliber of the participants will guarantee a very interesting and tough fight for the leading positions. We wish Yevgeniy and Allan a lot of luck!

i was so interesing about checkers.but my question is that is only your north america that play in this tournarment,meanwhile you call it internationnal game.am from nigeria and i can play better i sugget that maybe next one you make it open and clear to the world.

You are mistaken, Toyin. We have open tournaments every year with the players invited from all countries all over the world. Last two years we have players from as far as Mali, Uganda, Azerbaijan and Russis. We would like you to attend our future open championships as well to check for yourself how strong you are wink
